[ The engineer you interview is the engineer assigned ]
Most offshore engagements fail for the same three reasons: the engineer you interviewed is not the engineer who shows up, nobody overlaps with your working day, and knowledge lives in one person's head until they leave. When you hire dedicated developers through Techtaru Digital, all three are contractual rather than aspirational — you interview the person you get, you set the overlap hours, and documentation is part of the delivery.

Start with a two-week trialindividual engineers embedded in your team, reporting into your leads and working in your process.
a full squad with engineers, QA and a tech lead, delivering against your roadmap.
short-term capacity to clear a backlog or cover a gap, scaling up and down by the month.
a complete delivery unit running an entire product line or module.
a persistent offshore team with its own hiring pipeline, built to your specification and growing with you.
senior specialists filling capability gaps your local market cannot fill quickly.
These are the people, not a sample of a pool. You interview whoever you would be working with, and the person you interview is the person who does the work.

Full Stack Developer — Mobile
Cross-platform apps that reach both stores from one codebase, and the APIs behind them.

Full Stack Developer — PHP & Laravel
Laravel backends and the database design underneath them, with React on the front.

Full Stack Developer — iOS
Native iOS where the platform matters, cross-platform where it does not, plus the Node services behind both.
Backend engineers in Node.js, Python, Java, .NET, PHP and Go. Frontend engineers in React, Angular, Vue and Next.js. Full-stack engineers where the team is small and breadth matters more than depth.
iOS (Swift, SwiftUI), Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose), React Native and Flutter, including engineers experienced with app store review and release management.
Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart and headless commerce specialists who have shipped live stores rather than only studied the platform. The same people staff our eCommerce engineering projects.
ML engineers, data engineers, LLM and RAG specialists, MLOps engineers — the roles hardest to hire locally and where a vetted offshore hire moves fastest. Where the gap is direction rather than delivery, start with AI capability building.
AWS, Azure and GCP engineers covering CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability and cost optimisation.
Manual QA, automation in Playwright, Cypress and Appium, performance testing and release verification.
Business analysts, product owners, scrum masters, UI/UX designers and technical writers, where the gap is coordination rather than code.
Dedicated team (monthly). A fixed squad working only on your product, billed per engineer per month. Best when you have a continuous roadmap and want team stability. Minimum engagement is usually three months, because ramp-up cost is real and a one-month engagement rarely pays back for either side.
Staff augmentation (monthly, flexible). Individual engineers added to your existing team, scaling up or down with thirty days' notice. Best when you have in-house leadership and need hands.
Project-based with a dedicated team. Fixed scope and price, delivered by a named team. Best when requirements are clear and you want cost certainty.
Dedicated development center. A long-term offshore unit with its own recruitment, retention and management layer, operating under your brand and standards.
This is where offshore relationships usually break, so here is exactly what happens:
No bait-and-switch. The engineer you interview is the engineer assigned. If we ever need to change someone, you approve the replacement and get a handover overlap.
Timezone overlap is a contract term, not a hope. India-based teams typically offer 4–5 hours' overlap with UK and European working days, and 2.5–4 hours with US Eastern if the team shifts start times. We agree the overlap window before the engagement begins and staff accordingly. Teams that pretend timezone difference is irrelevant produce the async-only failure mode where every question costs a day.
Your tools, your process. Engineers work in your repositories, your CI, your ticketing system, your standups, your definition of done. We do not run a parallel process and report into it.
Documentation is a deliverable. Code comments, ADRs for significant decisions and onboarding notes are expected output, not optional. This is the difference between a team you can release and a dependency you cannot escape.
IP and confidentiality. All work is yours from the first commit. NDAs signed before technical discussion, background-verified engineers, and VPN or VDI access where your security policy requires it.
India remains the largest offshore engineering market globally, with a deep talent pool across web, mobile, cloud and increasingly AI engineering. Blended rates typically run 50–70% below US and Western European equivalents for comparable seniority, which is the reason most teams look here. The quality variance is also wider than in local markets — which is why vetting, interview rights and a replacement guarantee matter more than the headline rate. We publish our process precisely because the headline rate is the easiest thing to compare and the least useful.
Indicative monthly rates for full-time dedicated engineers:
Rates vary with stack scarcity, seniority and engagement length. No recruitment fee, no infrastructure cost, no payroll or benefits overhead — one monthly invoice per engineer. Part-time and hourly arrangements are available for specialist roles.
| Role | Monthly (full-time) |
| Junior developer (1–3 yrs) | $1,800–$2,500 |
| Mid-level developer (3–6 yrs) | $2,500–$3,800 |
| Senior developer (6+ yrs) | $3,800–$5,500 |
| AI/ML or specialist engineer | $4,500–$7,000 |
| Tech lead / architect | $5,500–$8,000 |
If you are evaluating vendors, ask each whether you can interview and reject candidates, and what happens when a developer underperforms. Send us your role requirements and we will shortlist within a week — and we are happy to start with one engineer before you commit to a team.
Roughly $1,800–$8,000 per engineer per month depending on seniority and stack. That is a fully loaded figure — no recruitment fee, infrastructure cost or benefits overhead on top.
